Smart Dog's Training Approach
Smart Dog offers dog obedience training customized for the owner and pet alike. We focus on positive reinforcement and getting to know both the animal as well as its owner. Lea offers these services through both her home as well as a kennel space located in the country with plenty of room for the dogs to roam.
Mission
Smart Dog’s mission is to provide the best positive reinforcement dog training in Southeastern Michigan available. We exist to attract and maintain customers. When we adhere to this maxim, everything else will fall into place. Our services will exceed the expectations of our customers.
Class Levels

Off Leash Obedience: this class is used to teach dogs basic commands and can be taught in foreign language if desired. The course will have an introductory explanation of proper communication techniques and will be held in a quiet and relaxed training environment.

Private Training – Beginner: the goal of this class is to have the owner work with their dog in a positive and consistent manner. The owner will be taught to establish a leadership relationship with the dog. Basic commands such as come, sit, down, stay and leash walking will be taught.

Private Training – Intermediate: this class will perfect the standard commands and will also work on heel, distance work, distraction work and new environments.
Course Philosophy
A canine state of mind, that is what we as humans need to understand when bringing a dog into our lives. With this in mind, the courses are used to establish positive reinforcement to get the dog to act the way you want it to. Obedience is the foundation for all other training disciplines and provides for a harmonious human/animal relationship.
